Chapter 36.3

unedited

Meng Huan propped his hand on the table, quietly looking at Lin Bozhou.

Perhaps, he was indeed an overbearing powerful minister in the original book.

But perhaps…… he was not a treacherous minister?

The brush stopped. Meng Huan opened his mouth wide and yawned, rolling down two lines of hot tears. “Your Highness, it’s time to sleep.”

When Lin Bozhou looked sideways, he saw Meng Huan look sleepy but insisted on sitting beside him and refused to go to bed by himself like a curious baby. He smiled and took his hand. “Make Huan Huan wait for a long time.”

No.

Meng Huan thought with tears in his eyes. The odds were that he would fall asleep and be woken up by Lin Bozhou, so he might as well wait for him to sleep together. After transmigrating into the book, Meng Huan no longer had to worry about getting up early, so sleeping at any time wasn’t a big problem.

The two walked to the bedside, and Meng Huan held the quilt. “Your Highness, please.”

When he finished, a familiar body was pressed against his back.

Meng Huan stiffened for a moment, but his shoulders then relaxed. The man picked him up with his legs up, took off his shoes, and cradled him on the bed, gently pinching his white and small feet.

Meng Huan smelled the rich sandalwood scent on his shoulder, buried his head in the crook of his ear, bit his lips, and felt Lin Bozhou pull his clothes away.

A burst of ripples came in, and the man’s voice came and went in his ears, still as gentle and calm. He whispered in his ears, full of a wicked sense of compulsion.

The ripples flowed into the sink and gushed out.

His forehead was stained with a layer of sticky sweat. When he felt Lin Bozhou’s palm moving restlessly around his waist, Meng Huan’s small face was pale and wet, insistingly shook his head. “No more.”

“Hmm?” The man’s voice was hoarse.

Meng Huan said, “It’s time for Your Highness to sleep.”

“Ah.” Lin Bozhou’s trailing voice seemed to be disappointed.

Meng Huan said nothing more and desperately wrapped himself into the quilt, bundling up into a ball so that he wouldn’t touch himself. “I’m not willing to do it now. Your Highness said before that he would ask my opinion. Then my opinion is no.”

“……”

Lin Bozhou seemed to give a soft laugh, like a gust of wind.

“Okay. This husband will wipe Huan Huan’s body and go to sleep.” Lin Bozhou got off the bed.

After the exhaustion, Meng Huan was so sleepy that he couldn’t open his eyelids and felt the hot and wet towel fall on him. Lin Bozhou wiped away his sweat stains and carefully wiped his hands, just like the aunts in the orphanage who cared for him as a child.

In the dark light, Lin Bozhou’s eyebrows drooped, and he seemed used to supporting and caring for people. He quietly cleaned Meng Huan, signaled the eunuch to bring down the hot water, and followed by taking off his shoes and getting into bed.

Leaning against him, Meng Huan closed his eyes tightly.

Because of the early sleep, Meng Huan woke up early. Lin Bozhou’s movement to get up and prepare for the morning court was very light, but Meng Huan still opened his eyes and saw Lin Bozhou carrying his shoes and went outside the last door to put them on again so as not to walk with a loud sound.

Meng Huan froze for a moment, feeling not so sleepy, and also climbed up.

When Eunuch You Jin saw him, he let out an “oh.” “Princess is also awake?”

The eunuch was combing Lin Bozhou’s hair, so he could only turn his line of sight.

“Huan Huan?”

Meng Huan’s eyes were half closed. He got out of bed, walked to Lin Bozhou’s side, squatted down, and yawned again, leaning against Lin Bozhou’s leg and starting to drop two lines of hot tears.

Lin Bozhou stilled. “Go to sleep.”

“……” Meng Huan shook his head. “I’ll take a look.”

“Washing up and combing hair, what’s there to look at?”

It was dark outside the window. Because Lin Bozhou traveled early, several lights had been lit. Meng Huan propped his head up and couldn’t say what was so interesting, saying, “Just taking a look.”

Lin Bozhou laughed again.

His wife didn’t seem to realize that he was being clingy.

He let out an “mm” and gently pinched Meng Huan’s cheek. “Okay. When this husband goes out, Huan Huan will then sleep again.”

Meng Huan nodded.

After freshening up and changing into court clothes, Lin Bozhou let the eunuch carrying the lantern guide him all the way to the entrance of the prince regent’s residence. He had walked this road in the dark for six years, and the only difference today was that there was a little clingy person beside him.

He held Meng Huan’s hand. Meng Huan was still a bit curious about this darkness and looked around.

At the entrance of the prince’s residence, the carriage was waiting. “Your Highness.”

Lin Bozhou: “Huan Huan, this husband is leaving and will return to keep you company this afternoon.”

Meng Huan: “Mm-hmm.”

Lin Bozhou moved closer and kissed him gently on his lips. “Walk around the house more; get familiar with Shan Xing and the others. They can take you to play so you won’t be bored.”

The attendants and eunuchs nearby buried their heads even lower as if they saw nothing and heard nothing.

Meng Huan’s ears reddened, but he still nodded calmly. “Mm-hmm.”

Lin Bozhou bent down and entered the carriage, lifting the curtain and glancing at him. “Go back.”

The carriage moved slowly through the night until it became a very small dot, turned a street, and was out of sight.

When yawning and looking at the carriage, for some reason, Meng Huan felt that he had done his filial duty to Lin Bozhou.

“……”

Meng Huan stopped himself from this outrageous thought.

On the contrary, looking at the carriage driving away, ushering him in and out, it felt…… pretty good to have someone he cared about in the prince’s residence.

Meng Huan laughed, turned his head, and ran happily towards the bed chamber.

You Jin, following behind him, was scared to death. “Hey, groping about in the dark. Ancestors, ah–”

He had served Lin Bozhou for half his life. Now that Lin Bozhou had a wife, he had to serve his wife too. Such a hard life!
