Chapter 91 : C91

“Is there anything else you need?” Gu Chi pursed his lips.

He glanced at his watch out of the corner of his eye—it was almost nine o’clock.

If they talked any more, she would be asleep.

Professor Yu’s eyes widened.

This kid, was he driving him away?

“Nothing else!” He got up angrily and strode toward the door.

“I’ll see you off,” Gu Chi also stood up.

Professor Yu’s face turned even darker.

He held the doorknob and pressed it down to get out.

Gu Chi followed behind him silently, only to find that Yu Song stopped suddenly.

Then came Yu Song’s surprised voice, “Why are you staying outside the door on such a cold day?”

“…I’m looking for Gu Chi.”

Gu Chi raised his eyes and saw Chi Ying standing at the door illuminated by the lights inside the room.

She was a little cautious, as if she had noticed him, and secretly looked up at him.

Yu Song felt strange.

“Then you guys talk, I’ll go back.”

Yu Song turned his head and was about to talk to Gu Chi, but when he saw the person who had a neutral expression a second before suddenly changed, he stopped.

Gu Chi supported the door frame with one hand, and looked at Chi Ying. His cold and deep eyes were filled with a smile at that moment.

Yu Song suddenly understood the reason for his abnormality.

He tapped the ground with his cane, made a muffled sound, then turned and left on crutches.

Hmph, this kid actually got the hang of it.

    …

It was so silent.

Gu Chi obviously had a lot to say to her, but once he met her, he didn’t know what to say.

“Come in,” he turned sideways.

“No, no, no!” Chi Ying hurriedly shook her head.

She was embarrassed just by seeing Gu Chi. If she was alone in the room with him, she was afraid that she would die in place.

Gu Chi looked at her and was silent for a few seconds.

“So, we will just stand outside and chat?”

Chi Ying nodded, not feeling it was strange at all.

Gu Chi: “…”

Okay.

“What about your ability? Did it recover?”

“I’ve already reached fifth-level, and it may take a while to recover to seventh-level.” Gu Chi replied, “Helping so many people recover their abilities, I thought it was a bit too much for Yun Ling, so I didn’t let her continue.”

Chi Ying felt relieved, “It’s good that you can recover.”

“Yeah.” Gu Chi twisted his fingers, “You said before that if I have anything to say, I can take it slowly…”

Chi Ying’s heart skipped a beat.

“Yeah, don’t be in a hurry,” she blushed and held back for a long time before uttering the sentence.

Gu Chi chuckled, instead of embarrassing her, he changed the subject, “This time, I should be able to take a long vacation. The zombie leaders who caused the headquarters the most headaches have been dealt with, and the other ability holders can deal with the remaining low-level zombies.”

“Oh, good,” Chi Ying was at a loss, not understanding what that got to do with her.

“Although the food in the cafeteria at the headquarters is quite rich, it is only rice after all. I just happened to be free recently, so you can come to me for meals.”

“I’ll take care of the meals.”

Chi Ying was stunned, but still nodded in response.

The next day, because she heard from Gu Chi the previous night that Yun Ling consumed too much energy, Chi Ying went to her place after getting up early in the morning.

It just so happened that she had been separated from the other team members for too long, so Chi Ying stopped by to see Lu Yunfei and the others.

Yun Ling seemed to be recovering well during the days when she returned to the headquarters. When Chi Ying saw her, her complexion was rosy, and she was even interested in asking her for advice on how to become stronger.

However, Chi Ying told her to eat and sleep more.

Mu Yu was packing up her space, and when Chi Ying arrived, she just piled up all the things in the space in the room.

Only Lu Yunfei seemed particularly strange.

After Chi Ying knocked on the door, he poked his head out furtively, and hid the rest of his body behind the door, as if he was afraid that someone would find out what was in the room.

“D-mn, Chi Ying,” he patted his chest in relief, and opened the door.

“I thought it was Mu Yu.”

He hesitated for a moment, as if he had made some important decision.

“You come in.”

Chi Ying was still a little dazed, but followed him into the room.

“Come, come and taste it!” Lu Yunfei sat on the sofa, patted his legs, and shouted.

“What?” Chi Ying was a little puzzled.

When she approached, she saw a small bowl of red fruits on the table in front of the sofa. There were about a dozen of them, each with small green leaves hanging behind them.

“Strawberries!”

It was something she hadn’t eaten yet.

[You haven’t eaten many things.] The system couldn’t help complaining.

It had been less than half a year since Chi Ying came to that world from the game, and that was a post-apocalyptic world where all kinds of supplies were extremely scarce, and fresh fruits and vegetables were even more rare.

Lu Yunfei picked up the bowl and handed it to her.

Chi Ying picked one up and put it in her mouth.

It was very sweet.

“Where did you get it from?”

“I can’t tell you that, lest you say the person is biased.”

Chi Ying pursed her lips, and said with some regret, “Okay.”
