“Tide Summon!”

As the Serpentmen were about to charge forward, Lin Xiao, who was above the battlefield, abruptly pointed his finger. 10,000 points of Worship Value evaporated, and the Mystical Power ‘Tide Summon’ was unleashed.

In the next second, the shallow water hundreds of meters at the edge of the battlefield became bound by an invisible force. Without wind, a large wave nearly 300 meters long and two meters high gushed toward the group of Serpentmen and Murlocs who had just begun charging forward.

The impact of the giant wave wasn’t that great, but it was enough to mess up the formation of the charging Serpentmen.

For the amphibious Murlocs, although the waves also had all of them jumbled up in a mess, they were inherently more resilient to such changes than terrestrial creatures. Thus, they regained their foothold very quickly.

Lin Xiao’s incarnation was the first to react. He raised the Bone Sword in his hand and shouted, “Great Lord of the Grey Mist, King of the Endless Tides, Lord of the Seven Seas, grant us the power to kill our enemies!”

Activating the ability ‘Salted Fish Spike’, he sliced the seawater apart like a shark’s dorsal fin and slaughtered his way forward at immense speeds in a straight line toward the Serpentmen Leader who hadn’t yet stabilized his foothold due to the wavering tides. The Bone Sword in his hand split the air, serpent scales, flesh, and pierced deeply into the Serpentmen Leader’s chest with the tip of the blade piercing through his back.

At the same time, when he was backing off, the other Murlocs screamed in their weird voices as they activated their ability, turning into streaks of Murloc phantoms and charging into the Serpentmen crowd.

Hundreds of Murlocs smashed into the bodies of the more than 20 Serpentmen, wave after wave. Each Serpentman could endure no more than five assaults. More than half of them were instantly shredded into pieces by Salted Fish Spike’s fivefold attack damage. Blood splattered into the waters, staining a large portion of the beach red.

A huge battle was unraveling in the center of a wide canyon in a square-shaped Divine Realm that was about six kilometers in both length and width.

A large group of about four hundred Kobolds wearing leather armor and wielding hoes in their left hands and shovels in their right were lined up in a formation that resembled a long snake as they battled against skeletons wielding rusted iron swords whose numbers were slightly greater than the kobolds themselves.

On a protruding stone behind the kobold formation, stood an elderly, red-haired, red-skinned kobold holding a wooden staff. Beside him were few kobold guards.

The old kobold lifted the wooded staff in his hand. A ball of red light lit up at the tip of the wooded staff and quickly condensed into a basketball-sized fireball. As the old kobold waved the staff, the fireball flew over the kobold’s defense line and fell into the hoard of skeletons.

“Boom!”

The sound of a deafening blast that shook the heavens and startled the earth sounded. A circle of flames instantly exploded across an area of 5×5 meters. The skeletons in the area were instantly set on fire, quickly burning into ashes and vanishing in the flames.

“Nice one!”

Class teacher Wu Hai, who was watching the battle from beyond the Divine Realm, clapped his hands and complimented. He said to tutor Zhen Wenzhuo who was standing beside him, “Meng Hui’s performance is getting better and better. It’s very rare that kobolds can be trained up to this point. Coupled with the kobold’s number advantage, he’s definitely in the top five of the class.”

Zhen Wenzhuo nodded and said, “He even has a Kobold Warlock with a rudimentary awakening of its bloodline. If he can completely awaken the kobold’s bloodline and turn it into a Kobold Dragonblood Warlock prior to its death, his achievement in the future is bound to be impeccable.”

At this point, Zhen Wenzhuo sighed and said, “Unfortunately, that will be extremely hard to accomplish.”

Wu Hai said with a smile, “Well, that isn’t necessarily true. In this placement test, I have…”

Wu Hai who was in the middle of pouring out his words suddenly frowned and revealed a peculiar expression on his face. “What’s going on?”

Zhen Wenzhuo said curiously, “What happened?”

Revealing an expression of bewilderment and shock, Wu Hai said, “Someone has defeated all their invaders.”

“So quickly?” Zhen Wenzhuo was immediately intrigued. He said, “Who is it? Yuan Hong? Wan Chuan? Or is it Zhao Erju? Or maybe Ju Xiao’er?”

“None of them.”

Wu Hai flicked his sleeves and the two vanished. When they appeared once again, they had, once again, arrived at the boundaries of Lin Xiao’s Divine Realm, and what they witnessed was the scene of more than ten Serpentmen corpses being hauled back to a tribe.

He pointed his finger, and a screen popped up before his eyes. Displayed on it, was exactly the scene that was happening at present.

“Backtrack!”

As he chanted softly, the scene on the screen before his eyes started backtracking, and soon returned to the point in time where the portal was just opened.

As time passed, the two of them revealed shock on their faces at the same time. After looking at each other, Zhen Wenzhuo said, “That ability… has such a high burst damage!”

“This ability is definitely beyond uncommon grade.”

“It’s such a waste to use it on Murlocs. The strength of this race is too low. They almost have no potential to be further improved.”

After a moment of silence, class teacher Wu Hai said, “You can’t assume that. The beginning stages are all basically the same. If he can use this rare card to gain himself enough advantage in the early stage, it will serve its purpose. When it finally falls short in the future, after he becomes a demigod, he can either think of a way to improve his Spawn’s bloodline, or even, if he chooses to opt for another race as his main combat power, he can still use the Murlocs as his secondary force. With the Murloc’s reproductive capacity and numbers, they will serve as a great fodder.”

At this point, he chattered no longer. Making a tap with his fingers, a screen that was displaying Lin Xiao’s information popped up.

“You have a new message. Would you like to open it?”

Within a Divine Realm, Lin Xiao received a message all of a sudden. Seeing that it was from his class teacher, he opened it right away and heard the rare sound of his class teacher’s laughter.

“Lin Xiao, your performance in this placement test was brilliant. I am very pleased!”

He curled his lips speechlessly. It felt lame. He’d never seen him so pleased before.

But. complaints aside, he still felt very happy. As a student, gaining his teacher’s attention was a great thing, especially for students like him.

One must know that many of the uncommon early-game cards were only in the possession of schools. Even True Gods may not have them. Otherwise, why would the True Gods send their direct descendants to school? Their purpose was to allow their descendants to lay down a solid foundation and attain higher achievements utilizing the school’s resources and that of their own or predecessors.

For example, Lin Xiao’s parents. They could prepare for him all the resources that he needed to become a demigod. But that would be his limit. Without the cheating cube, it would be almost impossible for him to become a True God.

At this moment, class teacher Wu Hai spoke again, “As of now, none of your other classmates have completed the test. Hence, you are the first place in this placement test.”

Lin Xiao felt ecstatic, and an uncontainable smile appeared his face.

Class teacher Wu Hai continued, “According to the rules I said before, you will get a random 2-Star card and a 5-Star card of your choice. In addition, you have an opportunity to partake in a bonus test. This opportunity is given to every first place in a placement test. You can choose whether to accept the challenge or not.”

After a slight pause, he continued, “The difficulty of the bonus test is extremely high. Even Hong Yuan, the best student in the class has only succeeded once while failing twice and renouncing twice.”

Uhm!

Lin Xiao hesitated for a moment, remaining silent as if he was thinking about something.

In all honesty, this was the first time he had heard about the bonus test after the placement test. Knowledge about it was presumably the privilege of the best students in the class. Previously, he had always been hovering around the 25th place, so he definitely didn’t have the right to learn about it.

The class teacher reiterating the difficulty and danger twice made it so that Lin Xiao was not bold enough to decide recklessly. After some thought, he said, “Could you let me know about the specific difficulty and the rewards for passing the bonus test?”
