Chapter 29 Chapter 29: Semi Plane

The projections of the high-level demigods encircled the golden platform as streams of light struck the platform and turned into students. Aside from the Third Class of Tenth Grade, the nine other classes of Tenth Grade would also be assembling here today.

There were 49 people in the Third Class of Tenth Grade. The other classes, might have as many as 50 people and as few as little more than 40. Among them, there were many outstanding students whose reputations were already beyond their own classes.

Yan Renjie, tall, handsome, with green eyes that were as gorgeous as gemstones, had inherited this father’s bloodline of a True God, and like Yuan Hong, he had 2 points of Divinity, but he was even better than Yuan Hong. He had always been a regular visitor at the top three across the entire year.

Wan Ying, a petite and adorable girl, beautiful and cute loli, slender figure and tight butt, just a little lacking in busty-ness.

Her mother’s family was very powerful. Among her ancestors was a level-14 Godhead, one level away from becoming a formidable Divine Power. Even though she wasn’t that person’s immediate descendent, she could still inherit an extra 1 point of Divinity, and a Transcendent Innate Talent. In terms of inherent qualities, she was the strongest in her year.

Most certainly, she was also one of the regular visitors to the top three of the year.

Being beautiful and talented, if his school was too free and bored as to make a list of the so-called campus belles, she would definitely have a spot in the list.

Aside from these dazzling geniuses, there were also many extraordinary talents who were only slightly inferior to them, such as Wan Chuan and Yuan Hong from his class, who were considered the second echelon in his year.

Lin Xiao ranked 252 in his year in the test a month ago. He belonged to the group that was on the verge of being eliminated.

As for now, based on his results, his teacher’s evaluation, and his classmates’ ideas about him, he should classify under the third echelon of little geniuses right below the ranks of Wan Chuan and Yuan Hong. If nothing unexpected happened, he would be able to get into Eleventh Grade, and if he were to work hard and have some luck on his side, there was a chance for him to join the Elite Class.

Yes, geniuses were that worthless.

Or in other words, when those that were considered genius were placed in a bigger picture, they would amount to nothing.

Lin Xiao heard that there was a true genius in Dongning City who was born with an additional 3 points in Divinity. Adding that to the default 1 point, that person had a total of 4 points. It was said that he had condensed yet another point of Divinity, thus achieving the minimum condition of 5 points to become a demigod. If that person was willing, he could attempt to conjure a Divine Role and become a demigod right now. He was absurdly powerful.

Compared to true geniuses as such, the other so-called geniuses were nothing.

In a while, when everyone had shown up, an emotionless robotic voice abruptly sounded:

“The first round of elimination for the Tenth Grade’s final examination is about to begin. The rules have been sent. The trial will begin in one minute!”

That was the Spirit of Artifacts, referenced from the Mage’s Spirit Tower. The robotic voice reverberated on the platform. A screen popped out before everyone’s eyes which displayed the specifics of this elimination round on its face.

Lin Xiao looked at the rules attentively and nodded his head.

The rules were very simple. Via the school’s Divine Artifact, every student’s Spawn would be projected to a semi-plane generated by the Divine Artifact to be tested.

As it was just a projection, no matter how many Spawn were lost or even if all of them perished in the test, it wouldn’t affect the student in the slightest.

The reason for doing so was mainly because, in the placement round, every student would descend onto a plane located in the outer realm controlled by the school. During that stage, students would be tested with real weapons. If their losses were too immense during the elimination phase, it would be very difficult for them to achieve good results for the subsequent tests.

Another reason was that, among these masses of students, at least half or even more than half of them were bound to become dropouts. Considering the difficult life they would have after they dropped out of school, it was undesirable for them to sustain such heavy losses moments before they drop out of school.

By deploying the school’s Divine Artifact to conduct the test via the projection method, even if a student failed, their strength would be retained, and they wouldn’t have to start all over again after dropping out.

The minute passed in the blink of an eye. As the Artifact Spirit initialized the countdown, Lin Xiao glanced at Wan Chuan and Yuan Hong who were staring at each other, and smiled secretly in his heart.

As the time hit zero, Lin Xiao could only feel his legs plummeting into the void. Beneath him was a golden vortex with no end. Nearly a thousand streams of golden light plunged into the vortex, making him feel extremely small.

Within the vortex, he only felt that the golden light before his eyes was vibrating so much that he couldn’t open his eyes. He shut his eyes and waited patiently. It was after an unknown length of time that he felt his feet landing on firm ground. He opened his eyes and found himself standing in the void. Lowering his head, there was a 3*3 square kilometer semi plane beneath his feet.

Looking to his left and right, identical semi planes were hovering in the distant void, which was probably the test sites for his classmates.

This semi plane had no water, no plants, only an endless wasteland and a ground of rubble.

“Please select your troops.”

A screen once again popped up before Lin Xiao’s eyes, prompting him to confirm the troops he wished to project into the trail.

“Is there even a need to consider? I choose all of them!”

Limitless splendor descended from the sky to the semi plane, revealing more than 2000 confused Greymist Murlocs, as well as more than 500 Black-scaled Naga. Each of them was wielding either one or two Refined Iron short spears.

It had to be mentioned that races certainly were different. Compared to the clueless Murlocs who were still in a state of shock, the Black-scaled Naga’s adaptability was obviously stronger, quickly reacting to the situation and gathering under the loud call of a tall and massive Black-scaled Naga.

Under its calls, the Greymist Murlocs also regained their senses. They began to croak, while some of the bolder ones even started to run around.

At present, the Greymist Murlocs had long since integrated with the Black-scaled Naga as one massive tribe. A few Black-scaled Naga leaders shouted and commanded some of the Murlocs to scout their surroundings, while the rest of them gathered into one mass and prayed quietly.

Lin Xiao’s golden figure appeared above the sky. In his ears, came the prayers of his believers, “Almighty God of Creation, Lord of Naga and Murlocs…”

Lin Xiao’s Divine Name had been changed within the past ten years, altered from the Great Lord of the Grey Mist, King of the Endless Tides, Lord of the Seven Seas to Almighty God of Creation, Lord of Naga and Murlocs, which was more in line with the powers in his grasp.

The Divine Name he had before was purely random. It was just made to sound cooler to let his believers feel that their religion was really awesome while, in fact, he didn’t even have a Divine Role.

Before becoming a demigod, Divine Names could be completely random, but once one conjured a Divine Role and became a demigod, Divine Names couldn’t be random anymore. It must have something to do with the Divine Role they assumed.

For instance, for the three Divine Roles of Creation, Naga, and Murloc which Lin Xiao would conjure, he could no longer give himself the name of Supreme Lord of the Seas or whatnot.

The reason being that one’s Divine Role would represent their authority. One could only be called by a title if they had the authority. If one were to give themself a random name outside the scope of their authority, when their believers were praying, beliefs that were unrelated to their Divine Role would be included in their prayers.

It was only a trivial matter that Worship Value that was unrelated to one’s authority would be wasted. Amid one’s Worship Value and the believes that their believers conceived, the Impact Surge of non-authority beliefs was the most fatal.

Demigods and divine life were different. Without a Divine Role, there would naturally be no Impact Surge, but if one were to suffer from such an Impact Surge when they have a Divine Role, in mild cases, their Divine Role would become disordered, and in severe cases, it would taint their Divinity, causing the amassed Divinity to no longer be pure, thus plummeting in grade, or even be devastated.
