Chapter 21 Chapter 21: Decomposition

Early the next morning, Lin Xiao was woken up by his crisp ringtone insistently sounding in his ear. Bleary-eyed, he turned on his wrist binding and saw the image of his young and beautiful mother projected in front of him.

Jin Yunzhu stretched out her hand and rubbed her confused son’s head with a smile, took out an exquisite little box, handed it to him, and said, “My son, this is from your father. After the finals, it will be best if you can quickly decide on whether you wish to go for the Academy Stream or Battle Stream so I and your father can prepare in advance.”

“Academy Stream or Battle Stream…” Lin Xiao hesitated for a moment and said, “I’ll go with the Battle Stream!”

The Academy Stream and Battle Stream split was a choice that all students must make after their first year of school.

The so-called Academy Stream would imply that the student would focus on religion in their Divine Realm in their subsequent development.

As for the Battle Stream, it would mean that the student’s subsequent development would prioritize the growth of their Spawn’s combat effectiveness.

It was rather difficult to explain in professional terms, but it could be described in a simple way, that was, upon graduation, Academy Stream opters would generally remain in the safer Planes and assume a defensive playstyle.

As for the Battle Stream, they would be responsible for entering some of the unexplored hazardous Planes or even new crystal shells, conquering and despoiling the other Planes, and confronting the native Gods in those Planes.

To put it bluntly, the Academy Steam was equivalent to the civilian jobs in an army, while the Battle Stream were the troops that would fight at the front line.

With this being the case, the development methods of the two streams naturally had their own focus. The division of classes was based on grades, and also stream. Generally speaking, students in the Academic Stream and the Battle Stream wouldn’t be assigned to the same class.

But of course, these two streams were just a direction. It didn’t mean that, if one chose the Academy Stream, they would be stuck in a safe area, engaged in farming. Battle Stream students also wouldn’t go to a battlefield for no reason. Again, it was nothing more than a direction. Even those in the Battle Stream could involve themselves in farming.

It was just that there were very few people who desired such a thing, and if they were to say it out loud, people would mock them.

If one were to ask Lin Xiao what stream he. would go for, he would most certainly say Battle Stream. Although the risk factor and death rate was high, Battle Stream students were generally more powerful. With the same level in Godhead, those in the Battle Stream would definitely be stronger than those in the Academy Stream. Likewise, they would be able to go further.

His mother didn’t raise any objections to his decision. She only touched his cheek gently, leaned forward, kissed him on his cheek, and said, “My child, I respect your decision.”

His mother left, leaving behind a box with a few cards in it and the mark of her lips.

Rubbing his face, he excitedly hopped onto the bed with the box. As he opened the box, a gentle golden light came from within. There were four cards inside, all of them 5-Star cards.

“Way to go, dad!”

5-Star Racial Card——Black-backed Jackal (Uncommon): Summons 300 Black-backed Jackals. Note: Males and females each account for half of the population.

5-Star Resource Card—— Large Shallow Fish School (Common): Summons 5 random shallow fish schools.

(2) 5-Star Racial Breeding Card (Uncommon): Fertility Rate +300%, Survival Rate +300%, lasts 10 years. Note: This card cannot be stacked with cards of similar effects. Can only use one at a time.

From these four cards, he could tell his father’s thoughts.

Although Jackals were also rated as a low-level race just like the Murlocs, in terms of individual combat effectiveness, the Jackal was far stronger than the Murloc. In early stages, where neither one’s Divine Realm nor Divinity could support races of the intermediate and high level, the Jackal was one of the most cost-effective low-level races.

When he loaded the cards into his Divine Realm, released the Black-backed Jackals, and then used the two Racial Breeding Cards to breed enough Jackals before the finals, coupled with the Murlocs that he had now, it wouldn’t be too difficult for him to get good grades in the finals.

His father’s plan would fit his current situation very well, but Lin Xiao, however, thought otherwise. He had a better plan.

Four new 5-Star cards plus the original two meant he had six, enough for him to execute his plan.

He put away the cards, got into the Log-in Cabin, and returned to his Divine Realm. Spreading out the seven cards, including the Divine Realm Card, in a line, the cards of different grades were emitting varying amounts of light. The higher the grade, the brighter they were. Amongst the row of cards, the orange glow of the Legendary-grade Divine Realm Card was the most dazzling.

First, he picked up the Divine Realm Card. No matter what, he would never use this card for Decomposition and Merging.

“Load!”

Following a gentle hum, the Divine Realm Card crumbled into a streak of golden light and dispersed into the void.

In the next second, a rumbling sound struck his ears. Lin Xiao prompted his mind and vanished, reappearing at the far left edge of his Divine Realm. This location was originally a long and narrow beach, but it turned out to be an illusion of a beach, stretching far off into the distance and out of sight. In fact, when one arrived at this point, they would be halted by an invisible light wall, hindering them from venturing forward.

But, at that very moment, the beach suddenly began to boil. The sand on the edge began splashing up and down, and the illusion of the beach began to twist and deform. And then, it shattered, inch by inch, like glass and plummeted, revealing the black continent concealed by the illusion.

As the illusion gradually crumbled, a cloth-like object that was covering the beach rolled backward. Inch after inch, a murky continent was revealed, until…

The power of the Divine Realm Card was exhausted. At the far left of the Divine Realm, a black continent 3.5 kilometers in length and a little over one kilometer in width grew out of thin air.

Reflected in the entire Divine Realm, the area of the Divine Realm had changed from five kilometers from east to west, 3.5 kilometers from north to south, to the now, more than six kilometers from east to west, and 3.5 kilometers from north to south. He placed the whole of the new continent at the left side of his Divine Realm, merging it with the area where the Murlocs moved about.

Within the Divine Realm, the Murlocs didn’t feel anything peculiar at first. Only Lin Xiao, the Lord of this Divine Realm, could feel the tremor caused by the expanding Divine Realm. The beings living in the Divine Realm couldn’t detect it.

It wasn’t until an hour after the Divine Domain Card was fully integrated that a Murloc happened to pass by the edge of the original crystal shell of this world and suddenly discovered that the invisible barrier there had disappeared. It walked into the newly emerged land in astonishment. Then, he turned and ran back to the tribe, yelling, attracting more Murlocs to come over, driven by curiosity.

Lin Xiao didn’t pay any attention to the Murlocs’ surprise. After confirming that the Divine Realm Card was successfully integrated, he returned to his Divine Kingdom.

He still had more important things to do.

First, he put away the Bison Herd card and the Large Shallow Fish School card. He couldn’t use those two cards.

Regardless of if the idea he had would work or not, these two cards must not be decomposed. There was a food shortage within his Divine Realm.

He extended his hand. A speck of light quickly rotated and formed the outline of a cube that quickly turned into an entity.

His gaze fell on the three cards. First, he took the Gnome Tribe card and placed it into the cube. As he prompted his mind, the cube began spinning. The Gnome Tribe card within the Creation Cube was completely decomposed into three portions, namely a portion of pure Bloodline Origin, Branding of Gnome Kind, and Branding of Bugbears.

Subsequently, he extended his hand, pinched the Black-backed Jackal Card, and turned it around in his palm. While gritting his teeth, he threw the card into the cube.
