Earth Monarch Tegu didn’t pay attention to anything else. Upon learning his opponent, he didn’t even bother to look, choosing instead to sit and meditate as if he were significantly exhausted. Outside of the duels, he seemed to focus solely on resting.

The Evil Spirit Race was notoriously infamous across many Divine Realms. Many of the Divine Realms present here despised them. If an Evil Spirit Race member were discovered among the contestants, they would surely be killed.

It seemed that a member of the Evil Spirit Race had managed to slip through the cracks. Unfortunately, the five elders couldn’t detect it unless Yi Tianyun forced Earth Monarch Tegu to reveal his power.

Yi Tianyun and Earth Monarch Tegu soon stood on the dueling ground, facing each other.

Earth Monarch Tegu bowed respectfully and said, “Greetings, Earth Monarch Tianyun. Please, enlighten me!”

Yi Tianyun looked at him and couldn’t help but sneer inwardly. No matter how well he acted, Earth Monarch Tegu was still an Evil Spirit Race member, and that was an unchangeable fact.

“Earth Monarch Tegu, I seem to sense a particularly sinister energy in your martial arts, similar to the Evil Spirit Race,” Yi Tianyun probed.

Earth Monarch Tegu’s body stiffened, and a flicker of killing intent flashed in his eyes, but it quickly vanished, unnoticed by anyone. He didn’t show any exaggerated expressions or give anything away, maintaining his perfect facade.

“Earth Monarch Tianyun, you shouldn’t say such things lightly. The Evil Spirit Race is universally condemned here. I admit my martial arts have a sinister aura, but they have nothing to do with the Evil Spirit Race,” Earth Monarch Tegu said with a smile, adjusting his emotions. “After all, there are many martial arts out there. It’s not just the Evil Spirit Race that can practice sinister techniques. For example, Earth Monarch Tianyun, one of your martial arts, has a very strong sinister aura.”

He was referring to the Demonic G.o.d transformation. It was indeed an extremely sinister power, yet no one had questioned Yi Tianyun about it. Sinister techniques didn’t necessarily equate to evil, but the Evil Spirit Race was definitely the embodiment of evil.

A race that constantly relied on devouring other beings to strengthen itself was detestable.

Though there was constant killing here, at least they didn’t consume others’ bodies. What was the difference between that and beasts? Such behavior made them an anomaly, not part of the same circle.

The Evil Spirit Race was essentially cla.s.sified as a type of beast, leading to continuous rejection.

“Is that so? Then, I must have misunderstood you. My apologies,” Yi Tianyun sneered inwardly. This guy was good at covering his tracks, making it seem like an innocent mistake.

He could only probe with casual questions. Without strong evidence, there was no way to prove Earth Monarch Tegu’s Evil Spirit Race lineage.

“No problem. I hope Earth Monarch Tianyun refrains from making such statements. It could easily get someone killed,” Earth Monarch Tegu smiled nonchalantly. “Also, during our duel, I hope Earth Monarch Tianyun shows some mercy and doesn’t strike too hard.”

“I will,” Yi Tianyun’s eyes flashed. If he really did show mercy, he’d be a fool.

The battle was then announced to begin. Earth Monarch Tegu quickly produced a jet-black whip, exuding an evil aura.

It was a top-grade reincarnation-level weapon, a very good whip.

“Be careful!” Earth Monarch Tegu even gave a courteous warning, appearing not to be a sinister person. However, appearances could be deceiving.

Earth Monarch Tegu swiftly moved towards Yi Tianyun, swinging his whip to trap him. Instead of striking, he aimed to bind Yi Tianyun.

Yi Tianyun’s eyes turned cold as he tightly gripped the Tianchen Divine Spear. Without hesitation, he unleashed a violent thrust, far stronger than the one used against Earth Monarch Yuhua. The force shattered the s.p.a.ce as it surged towards Earth Monarch Tegu.

Yi Tianyun’s style was a straightforward, brutal force. He never hid his most violent attacks. If he could solve it with one spear, he wouldn’t beat around the bush. If one spear weren’t enough, then two would do!

“Snap!”

Earth Monarch Tegu maintained his composed demeanor, quickly swinging his whip to intercept the Tianchen Divine Spear. Upon the spear’s first touch, its domineering force shook the whip away.

But even with that light contact, Yi Tianyun felt the energy within the spear being siphoned away! Unlike the previous battle with Earth Monarch Yuhua, where his power was neutralized, this time, his energy was being drained!

His Eye of Insight clearly saw the absorbed energy flowing into Earth Monarch Tegu and becoming his own. Undoubtedly, this was the work of the Evil Spirit Race, which thrived on devouring others’ energy.

After siphoning the energy, Earth Monarch Tegu’s eyes gleamed as he swung the whip again, siphoning more energy. With the diminished power, his speed decreased significantly, giving Earth Monarch Tegu ample time to dodge.

Yi Tianyun realized Earth Monarch Tegu’s winning strategy was a war of attrition, slowly draining his opponent’s energy until they were exhausted.
