Chapter 67

At first, it was similar to the feeling in her memory. It was soft and sweet.

But that changed quickly as his tongue invaded her mouth. Gently licking along the teeth, it quickly found Rosetta’s tongue and began to suck it deeply.

Rosetta gasped and accepted his tongue. Her vision quickly became hazy. The world seemed to be spinning fast.

Before she knew it, Rosetta was lying on the table, Rashid pressed against her body from above. With his weight on her, she found it harder and harder to breathe.

She was unsure when to breathe out and when to breathe in, and as their tongues intertwined, they made unexpected moans. It was so embarrassing, and she didn’t really know what to do.

“Hmph…”

Rosetta let out an involuntary moan. Her fingers wandered across the table, searching for something to grab onto, and the teacup slid down.

-clink.

Rosetta flinched at the sound of the shattering glass. Just as her faraway mind snapped back to reality and she opened her eyes, Rashid began to push against her.

Without wasting any time, he licked and sucked at the inside of her mouth, stealing all the air from her lungs. He grabbed each of her hands and pinned them to the table so she couldn’t move them any further.

Suddenly, Rosetta stopped thinking. Her body was getting hotter and hotter. She could barely think anymore because her mind was melting.

‘This is it.’

This is why I didn’t want to marry Iselle, Rosetta thought in a daze, in the back of her mind.

I didn’t want to do this with him. I like him so much, but it’s impossible to kiss and share my breath like this with him. No, I can’t even imagine doing this with a man who isn’t Rashid. Only Rashid could do this.

Rosetta let go of everything and willingly accepted the sensations he was giving her. Eventually, one of her hands was released and his hand began to stroke her face and neck. Rosetta clutched the collar of his shirt with her free hand. Unlike a moment ago, when she was passive, she was now sharing her breath and saliva with him.

His touch was unfamiliar, and soon she felt a tingling sensation all over her body, and then a slight chill. The heat inside her blossomed, but it was accompanied by a contradictory sensation, as if she were about to fall from a great height.

Rosetta’s body stiffened a little in response to the incomprehensible sensation. For the first time, her fingers stopped as she felt her body, which had been so relaxed only moments before, suddenly stiffen. Her fingers fiddled with the collar of his shirt a few times, then dropped.

Rashid parted his lips and looked at Rosetta. After a moment, Rosetta opened her eyes. He looked at those confused green eyes carefully, as if observing them, and then a slight smile crossed his face.

He kissed her lips several times, briefly. He let out a low chuckle when he saw Rosetta wrinkle her nose slightly and blink her eyes after each kiss.

“Why…”

Just as she was about to ask why he was laughing, Rashid helped Rosetta to sit up. He sat her down at the table and began to straighten her disheveled hair and clothes.

Rosetta leaned into his touch and stared blankly at her surroundings. The tablecloth, which had covered the table at an angle, had been pushed to one side and was touching the floor. A teacup lay shattered and scattered on the floor, water pooling beside it.

The sight of it brought back memories of what they had just done. Rosetta’s face began to heat up. Embarrassment washed over her, turning her face bright red and blushing up to her ears.

Just as Rosetta was about to hang her head in shame, Rashid pulled her into his arms.

He didn’t say anything, just held her for a long time. Until her thumping, rapidly beating heart returned to normal and the flush on her face subsided.

This allowed Rosetta to bury her face in his chest and calm down. If he had asked her about what had just happened instead of hugging her like this, she would have been embarrassed to the point of wanting to hide in a rat hole.

“Go to your room and sleep; I’ll have the maids clean this place up,” Rashid said, pulling away.

Rosetta nodded, and then he spoke as if he’d had a sudden thought. He sounded very angry. “And next time you take a bath, make sure you have someone with you. What if it was someone else instead of me that day, or worse, Sika, that careless brat could have walked in.”

He sounded threatening, similar to when he’d told her never to drink alcohol.

Rosetta nodded quickly again. “O- Okay. Don’t worry, I’ll never bathe alone.”

Only after Rosetta had assured him that she would, did he call for Benny.

As soon as Benny entered, her hawk-like eyes scanned the room. The table was in disarray, the teacups on the floor were shattered, and Rosetta’s hairstyle had changed. Before dinner, her hair had been braided and tied back with a ribbon, but now it was simply tied together. Checking her swollen red lips one last time, Benny smiled with great satisfaction.

“Take Rigaina to her room. You will be attending to her there.”

Benny looked a little disappointed at that, but then she grinned broadly.

“Yes!”

Rosetta took Benny’s hand and slid off the table, then ran out of the room without looking back.

As soon as they were in the room, Benny tried to talk to her, but Rosetta was quick to stop her before she could unleash a storm of chatter.

“I want to be alone, so you can leave. You don’t have to do anything, I’ll take care of everything.”

Benny pouted a little, but meekly followed Rosetta’s orders.

When she was finally alone, Rosetta sagged. She staggered over to the bed and collapsed onto it.

She felt like she was floating on a cloud, even though she was definitely in bed, and she felt like she had just had a very strange dream.

Did I really just kiss him?

Unable to believe it, Rosetta brought her hand to her lips. Her lips were plumper than usual, and a little tingly. He had bitten and sucked on them. This was also new to her. That kisses made her lips swell like this.

Stroking her lips with her fingers, Rosetta soon buried her face in the pillow. And that night, for the first time since she’d come here, she didn’t sleep a wink.

6. Her Name

As night fell, a man crept out of his tent, crouched down and waited, trying to get as far away from the camp as possible.

But it wasn’t long before he saw shoes right in front of him. He slowly raised his head. A large man, covered in muscles, stared down at him with his arms crossed. Once again, he was caught short. It was Allen, the princess’ escort.

“I- I was just going to the bathroom, I wasn’t trying to run away! Haha!”

Fertan let out an awkward laugh, sweating profusely, and Allen returned it with a wicked grin.

“You must have very poor eyesight. The restroom is that way, not this way, young master.”

Fertan looked at where Allen was pointing and nodded hastily. “Y- You’re right. I have poor eyesight… Thank you for letting me know, Sir Allen.”

He hustled away, making the same ridiculous excuse as last time.

Allen clenched his fists and muttered to himself, If I catch that bastard running away one more time, I’m not going to hold back, I’m going to beat the shit out of him.

“My brother tried to run away again?” Rosie asked as he returned to the campfire.

Allen sighed deeply as he sat down next to her. “Yeah, your brother is the dumbest asshole I’ve ever seen. When I think about it, I just want to kill him.”

After saying that, Allen flinched for a moment at the look in Rosie’s eyes, wondering if he’d said something too harsh to her brother, after all, they shared blood.

“Don’t worry. That’s something I admit.”

Rosie smirked and tossed a log into the fire. The flames roared.

“Did your father secretly order him to run away and stall for time, somehow, so he can ruin our work?”

It’s been five days since they left for Quat. Fertan, the head of the delegation, had tried to escape at every turn.

At Allen’s words, Rosie shook her head. “That’s not true. He’s really afraid that if he goes to Quat, they’ll cut his head off, because of what we’ve done in the past.”

In the past, when the Basques had kidnapped the Quat chieftain’s wife, Quat had sent a delegation to the Basques. The kidnapped woman’s immediate family came and pleaded desperately for her return. However, the Basques chased the delegation away and insisted that the Quat chieftain come in person, and the rest is as everyone knows.

“He’s afraid the Quat will take revenge. It’s only natural that he thinks they’ll kill him, the heir of the tribe, just as we killed the Quat chieftain. It’s not that I don’t understand my brother’s behavior.”

“Maybe Nazar Quat really does want that?”
