Chapter 7.2

Ji-an, who stroked the back of her hand saying she was worried about my health, inspires me who has already recovered.

“After I recover my holy power that I used up treating the Young Lady, I will immediately leave. I would never get in the way between the Young Lady and the Grand Duke.”

I stared blankly at her face and pursed my lips.

‘Why is she infusing me with her holy powers when she used all of them up treating me before?’

I wondered for a moment, but that didn’t matter now. I grabbed Jian’s hand and brought out the words I prepared.

“Make Curtis Caballero your knight.”

“…what?”

“I congratulate the Saint and Curtis on your future… ugh!”

The moment I grabbed the embarrassed Jian and tried to give them my blessing…

FIZZLE! FIZZLE!

My fingertips trembled as I felt sparks exploding inside my body and my blood turned cold.

“Young Lady! Are you alright?”

I nodded weakly at Jian, embracing my trembling body by myself.

“Blessing… ugh, do, I’ll give it to you…”

My heart felt cold as if I had uttered something I shouldn’t have. I thought it would have a great effect on the collapse rate, but I couldn’t check the system window because someone suddenly came up.

“What the hell are you up to?”

Liring appeared with her red hair fluttering, a hateful frown painted on her pretty face.

“Saint, don’t believe a word that comes from this woman’s mouth. She is like a snake from the temple.”

“Young Lady Lirina, you shouldn’t say such things. Moreover, Young Lady Edith and Lirina are sisters.”

“Did this woman say I am her sister?”

Keeping Jian and me apart, Lirina’s nose flared and spoke ferociously, “How dare you, an illegitimate child, dare to pretend to be the Marquis’ daughter?”

I could see exactly where Lirina’s hand was headed as it rose horribly. I didn’t avoid the hand that approached me.

Even when my whole body shook, I pulled up the courage to stay still and not avoid it.

SLAP!

Lirina’s hand connected to my face.

“Oh, my.”

Finally, her breaths were sharp, and Lirina alternately looked at her hand and me with an embarrassed face.

“What, what? Why are you getting yourself hit?”

My hot cheeks hurt and felt very dirty. But instead of glaring at her, I bit my lips and lowered my head.

‘Let’s just finish the sub-quest in this queue.’

Whether it was Jian or Lirina, Edith Abina was involved, so if I didn’t act like her, the collapse rate would definitely be affected.

“I’m sorry.”

“…what?”

I could vividly feel Lirina’s response as she probably wondered what I ate wrong. I bent down as I took a peek at her wide-open eyes that were about to pop out of their sockets.

“Forgive me, Lirina, for acting as if I am still the Young Lady of the Marquis family.”

“Have you gone crazy?”

“No, I am not the Marquis’ daughter or anything,” I replied.

“Did you hit your head when you fell? Look at me!”

Lirina shook her head as if she couldn’t believe the words I said. She came close and grabbed my chin, and I had no choice but to raise my head and make eye contact.

“Crazy… what’s wrong with your eyes? This is madness!”

It seemed that my desire to finish the sub-quest reflected in my eyes. I lowered my gaze in a hurry in case she noticed my real intentions.

“Madness, utter madness… you are truly sorry?”

Lirina, who was looking at me as she curled her fingers, pushed me back roughly.

“This is suspicious. You think I’d get along with you just because you had a change of heart?”

“How could I ask that of you? I have never been a real sister to you.”

Lirina’s expression softened for a while as my words seemingly began to affect her. Shrugging her shoulders, she got up from her seat, supporting Jian, who was weakened after giving me her powers.

“Well, I am glad you realized who you are now. If you weren’t Lord Caballero’s lady, such a vulgar illegitimate child would’ve been kicked out of the family the soonest!”

“Yes, that’s true,” I nodded calmly at Lirina’s criticism.

Suddenly, Jian’s shocked voice pierced her ears.

“Young Lady…! Blood!”

“What?”

“Your mouth is bleeding!”

PATTER

At Jian’s cry, I wiped the fishy metallic tasting blood that poured from my mouth.

<WARNING> Character collapse rate has exceeded 90%.

<WARNING> Character collapse penalty will cause short paralysis and coughing of blood.
